On October 21, Anthropic introduced Claude Duet for professionals and small business owners. The assistant can prepare a morning brief from connected apps and keep working while you are away.
Duet can flag messages needing attention, prepare meeting briefs and draft follow-ups. Anthropic says it asks for approval before sending messages, making payments, signing documents or deleting information.
Why it matters: the potential gain is less time checking what needs doing. Its usefulness will depend on whether it spots the right priorities and delivers work you can trust.
This is an early preview. Anthropic says Duet can misread context or urgency, and its background activity counts towards your Claude usage limits.
When? The waitlist is open to US Pro and Max subscribers. Duet runs on the web, iOS and Android. Norway is not included in the initial preview.
OpenAI on Google Cloud. Official graphic: Google. Image source
On October 21, Google announced that selected enterprise customers can access OpenAI models through Google Cloud’s model garden.
The private preview includes GPT-6 Astra, GPT-6.1 Sol and GPT-6 Luna. Purchases go through Google Cloud Marketplace, with usage on a Google Cloud invoice and eligible spending counting towards cloud commitments.
Google also says OpenAI models are coming to Antigravity and Gemini for business. Those integrations are described as coming soon, rather than generally available today.
Why it matters: teams may find it easier to compare models within the cloud they already use. The practical question becomes which model handles each task at the right speed and cost.
Can you use it today? Access is currently limited to selected enterprise customers in private preview. This is not a new feature automatically added to every Google account.
This week, Canva introduced Canva Craft as its own AI image generator. Describe what you want, and it creates a visual for a social post, presentation or poster.
For example, you could ask for a café poster with a blue background and space for your opening hours. Craft is built to handle both pictures and the words inside them.
Try it: open Dream Lab in Canva. The company says Craft is available to all Canva users worldwide. Start with one image you actually need.
Why it matters: you can test an idea without starting from a blank page. Check the text and details before you publish, and keep the version that fits your brand.
As AI takes on longer tasks, a clear finish line becomes more useful. Describe the result you want to check.
Try this before your next task:
Before you begin, restate my goal, list the information you still need and describe the finished result. Suggest three checks I can use to judge it. Then wait for my reply.
For a travel plan, those checks might be within budget, realistic journey times and verified opening hours. For a report: the right audience, length and sources.
Agreeing on the finish line makes it easier to catch a polished answer that solves the wrong problem.
What would make AI more useful to you? Hit reply: fewer app switches, better memory, or something else entirely?
